Can seniors live comfortably in an ADU in Los Angeles, CA
I’m thinking about building an ADU for my parents in Los Angeles. They’re in their late 70s, and I wonder if a small space can really be comfortable for seniors. Has anyone had experience with older adults living in an ADU here?

Re: Can seniors live comfortably in an ADU in Los Angeles, C
My grandparents moved into a backyard ADU last year, and it’s been surprisingly comfortable for them. We made sure there were no stairs, wide doorways, and plenty of natural light. They enjoy having their own space but still close enough for family visits. One thing that helped a lot was consulting an LA, Los Angeles, California backyard adu guide—it gave tips on layouts and safety features specifically for seniors. Honestly, seeing them so happy makes me think more families should consider ADUs for aging relatives.
